ABA Section to Host Discussion on Federal Sector Personnel Law

The ABA Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice, Government Personnel Committee will host two brown bag lunches this month on the latest developments at the Merit Systems Protection Board (“MSPB”) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), Office of Federal Operations. These brown bags are part of a larger series of discussions the Government Personnel Committee hosts throughout the year on federal sector personnel law.

Andrew J. Perlmutter, Attorney, Passman & Kaplan, P.C. and the Co-Chair of the Government Personnel Committee, stated, “The Government Personnel Committee’s brown bag lunch program has, in the last year alone, brought in speakers from the MSPB, the EEOC, the Office of Special Counsel and the Office of Government Ethics to discuss major regulatory developments and changes in the caselaw. Space is still available for those who would want to attend either—or both—of our May 2016 programs, and all are welcome.”

On May 9, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., the discussion will focus on changes in statutes and regulations at the MSPB and a review of significant cases decided in the last year. Panelists James M. Eisenmann, Executive Director, MSPB and Bryan G. Polisuk, General Counsel, MSPB; and moderator Andrew J. Perlmutter will attend.

The brown bag on the latest federal sector developments at the EEOC, Office of Federal Operations will be held on May 16, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Panelist Elyssa Santos-Abrams, Attorney, Appellate Review Decision, EEOC, Office of Federal Operations, and moderator Andrew J. Perlmutter will review significant EEOC cases decided in the last year and other developments.

Both programs are free and open to the public, both for attendees on-site at the ABA’s Washington, DC office and for teleconference participants. To register please contact angela.petro@americanbar.org or (202) 662-1582.
