ABA AdLaw Section Webinar 3/12: Comparing Regulatory Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic, One Year On

ABA

The Regulatory Policy Committee of the ABA Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice presents:

Comparing Regulatory Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic, One Year On

Friday March 12, 2021

12 pm – 1:30 pm Eastern Time Via Zoom

One year into the global coronavirus pandemic, this international panel, which follows another sponsored by the Section in the Fall, once again brings together administrative law experts from multiple countries to discuss the implications of the COVID-19 crisis for administrative law in comparative perspective, with a special view to lessons for the United States in its regulatory response under the Biden Administration.

In light of the past year’s experience, and with a view to the new issues raised by the development of effective vaccines, can best practices be gleaned, from a comparative perspective, for how national governments and the international community (through institutions like the WHO) should respond to a public health crisis of this scope and scale? The panelists will address this question and related ones with reference to their respective articles in a special issue of the Administrative Law Review to be published March 19, 2021 and dedicated to comparison of regulatory responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Panelists:

Cary Coglianese, Edward B. Shils Professor of Law, Director of the Penn Program on Regulation, University of Pennsylvania

Fernanda Nicola, Professor of Law, Director of the Program on International Organizations Law and Development, American University Washington College of Law
