84th Plenary Session

The Administrative Conference of the U.S. will host its 84th Plenary Session on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The agenda for the plenary session as well as the four recommendations that will be considered are available at acus.gov/event/84th-plenary-session. Members of the public who wish to observe the virtual session can also view a livestream on the event webpage. The Conference will be considering the following recommendations:

• Temporary Rules
• Obtaining Government Records for Use in Agency Proceedings
• Federal Agency Collaboration with State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Governments
• Organization, Management, and Operation of Agency Adjudication Offices

Seeking Consultant for Statements of Agency Organization Project

This project will identify best practices for using, developing, and disseminating statements regarding their organizational structures — that is, agency-prepared documents that identify key subunits and positions, explain the duties assigned to them, and outline the functions they perform. Among other topics, it will address the types of documents in which organizational statements appear, processes for developing organizational statements (including their form and content) to ensure they are practically useful for the audiences that rely on them, policies for periodically reviewing organizational statements to ensure they remain current, and practices for disseminating statements internally and, when appropriate, publicly.
